The Neuchâtel Mountains Stereoscopic Club (CSMN) will present large parts of its last 10 years of 3D exhibitions.

In collaboration with Bernard Jenni (microbiologist, author of the original focus stacking images), the fascinating world of these polymorphic organisms, which are neither plants, nor animals, nor fungi, is presented in giant 120×80 cm anaglyphs with magnifications of nearly 1:100… with two giant wheatstones as a bonus. In addition, real specimens can be observed under 40x digital magnifiers.

In collaboration with Michel Fels (an amateur micromineralist from Alsace and author of the original focus-stacking images), this time the small-scale mineral world is presented in giant anaglyphs measuring 120×80 cm, with magnifications of nearly 1:100… and of course, two giant wheatstone specimens as a bonus. In addition, samples can also be viewed under 40x digital magnifiers.
The goal of this full week-end demo/workshop is to offer a fully immersive and interactive experience in the world of 3D, and to raise public awareness of long-exposure techniques, particularly those known as light painting.
This workshop involves the public participating either passively (as spectators) or actively (as both actor and spectator) in the live construction of a 3D image using light tools, notably those created by Jadikan and Olivier Faÿ. Both artists will showcase their talent for light improvisation. Daniel Chailloux participated in the development of the live 3D projection system and is managing it.
The setup uses two Olympus OM10 digital cameras connected via HDMI cables to two projectors. The Olympus cameras feature a Livecomposite shooting mode, which offers the advantage of almost instantaneous visualization (within 0.5 seconds!) of the image being created.
The two images will be stitched together live on a computer and projected side-by-side in anamorphic format onto a 3D TV or 3D projector, allowing users to experience 3D in real time. The shooting and projection will, of course, take place in the same darkened space, on the 2nd floor scene.
We can already announce that we will provide many display stands for 3.5×7″ (89x178mm) Holmes cardboards created by ISU members.
Each wooden mount can display 24 simple or double-sided cards. With double cards, two identical cards could be used, one for viewing the stereo pair horizontaly and the other for viewing the back image/description verticaly. If the vertical mount is not used for verso, you can show special explanation about yours cards.
We already have four mounts of 24 cards (4 sets of 6 cards or 6 sets of 4 cards), so potentially 16 to 24 people can participate in this presentation throughout the congress. Two OWL 3D-based viewers (OLW3D Lite in fixfocus wood mount and OWL3D standard adjustable) will allow for optimal viewing under LED lighting in daylight color temperature.
You will have the opportunity to put into practice the advice given by Steve Hughes during his ISU 25 wokshop in Wageningen… get your cardboards ready!
The trade fair will take place saturday and sunday from 9:00 to 17:00, on 330 m2 on the 3rd floor of the Maison du Peuple.

Hugo Clément, a stereoscopic underground photography enthusiast, awaits you in his tent—or perhaps more accurately, his cavern—to present a collection of stereoscopic underground photographs taken using vintage viewers adapted for the digital age.
These are abandoned quarries, the Parisian catacombs, but also, from time to time, a sewer, a utility tunnel, or even a natural cave.
Most of the time, he invites you to follow him into the underground spaces of the Paris region. However, he sometimes ventures far beyond the périphérique (Paris ring road)!
Christian Gimel: Lenticular portraits
A photographer by training, Christian has dedicated himself passionately to lenticular portraiture for several decades. After initially teaching himself, he met Henri Clément, a true professional in lenticular imaging. Their discussions confirmed the quality of his 3D photographs and the effectiveness of his technique. Since then, he has continuously refined his shooting systems to capture the few seconds of stillness required for his portraits.
His constant concern: to make 3D stereoscopic portraits as affordable as possible. It remains a luxury, but every day he improves his technique to reduce the cumbersome computer correction processes involved in developing and printing images. Unfortunately, the cost of lenticular film and the assembly of the overlapping photo grid is an unavoidable factor.
While waiting for you to commission a portrait from him, he will be exhibiting and presenting his work during the fair.
